The Irish Film & Television Academy (IFTA) Awards were televised last night at a virtual ceremony hosted by Grainne Seoige.
Cartoon Saloon’s Oscar and BAFTA-nominated animation WOLFWALKERS scooped the main award of Best Film. The win means that Wildcard have now distributed three of the last four Best Film IFTA award winners.
Cathy Brady picked up the Best Director award for her feature debut WILDFIRE which be released in Irish and UK cinemas on the 3rd September. Nika McGuigan was posthumously honoured with the Lead Actress - Film award for her powerful final performance in the psychological drama. The award was accepted at the virtual ceremony by her parents Barry and Sandra and her brother Blane.
Sharon Horgan and Barry Ward picked up the Best Supporting Actress and Best Supporting Actor for their roles in the coming-out-comedy DATING AMBER.
WOLFWALKERS continues to play in Irish and UK cinemas, WILDFIRE will be released in Irish and UK cinemas in September and DATING AMBER is available to #WatchAtHome.
